Safari World Map respects your privacy. This page explains what data is processed when you use the site, and what your rights are.
What we collect
The site has no user accounts and no forms that store data on our servers. The only usage data we collect is anonymised statistics via Google Analytics 4 (with IP anonymisation, no advertising features) — and only after you have accepted analytics in the cookie banner.
Cookies
Google Analytics sets cookies only after you give consent via the cookie banner. Your consent choice itself is stored in your browser's localStorage and never leaves your device.
Third-party services
Some content is loaded from third parties when you use the site. These services receive your IP address as part of a normal web request:
- Google Analytics 4 — anonymised visitor statistics (only after consent).
- Wikipedia and Wikimedia Commons — place descriptions and photos, loaded when you open a place.
- OpenStreetMap — map tiles and the underlying place data.
Your rights (GDPR)
Under the EU General Data Protection Regulation you have the right to:
- request access to your personal data;
- request rectification or erasure;
- object to or restrict processing;
- lodge a complaint with your local data protection authority.
